Safe Haven Basketball Registration Open – Season Starts December 1st!
For special needs players, make sure to register for the Champions Division. I wholeheartedly recommend this program and can’t say enough good things about the coaches and volunteers that make it happen at such a low cost. Something for every player, no matter their age or ability.
2011-12 Safe Haven Basketball Registration Is Open!!
Passing this along from Ken and Rhonda – James can’t wait for basketball season!
To all families of the VIP, Challenger & Champions Divisions (and any new families !!):
To all potential Buddies for 2011 -2012 Basketball Season:
The CHAMPIONS DIVISION (open to all abilities and special needs) of the Safe Haven West Side Basketball League will officially begin on Saturday DECEMBER 3rd, 2011. ALL PRACTICES & GAMES ARE PLAYED ON SATURDAYS.
We will practice and play all of our games at P.S. 163 – 97th St. between Amsterdam & Columbus Ave.
We will have again three divisions within this overall division. Rising Stars, Juniors and Seniors.
The division managers for Basketball are Rhonda Havre and Ken McGrory. We will provide all contact information for all parents. Our registration process is less formal than WSSL or WSLL, but it is still extremely important to get your applications in as early as possible, so that we can plan for the appropriate amount of teams and gym time.
***** This year, for the first time, parents can register their child online for Safe Haven. Please go to www.safehavenhoops.org for further information about the league and to register on line.*****
Times are listed below:
Seniors – Level A 9:00 – 10:30 AM (approx ages 15 – 24 – fast paced, more assertive)
Level B 10:30 – 12:00 PM (approx ages 15 – 24 – moderately paced, more on-court instructions during game)
Juniors 12:00 – 1:30 PM ( approx ages 11-15)
Rising Stars – 1:30 – 3:00 PM (approx ages 5 – 11)
We will be available to discuss which division your child should play in – if it is not apparent. Please note that the division that they play in Soccer – may not automatically correlate to which division that they play in Basketball.
There are different skill sets involved and we want your child to get the best experience, skill building and learning the structured parts of playing basketball – and of course, HAVE FUN !!
You can visit the newly updated website – www.safehavenhoops.org – for further info.
Best regards,
Ken & Rhonda
