As you may have gleaned from the Monday Minute this week, James made his own list of resolutions this year. He worked on it completely solo, and after reading them I was left smiling, and as expected, scratching my head too. Next to each resolution is the exchange that followed, but the list itself is published 100% unedited.

(Top) Ten More Very Specific, Mostly Realistic Resolutions For 2013

In 2013, I firmly resolve to:

10. Take the kids outside 5 days per week. It doesn’t have to be hours at the playground, but walking to the corner mailbox doesn’t count (anymore), even if it is cold and windy.

9. Respond to emails within 48 hours. Confession time: I have 11,194 unread emails in my inbox right now (and I gave up exaggerating numbers last year). So if you haven’t heard back from me within a couple of days you should probably try again

8. Post on thefoorce.com more. Watch How I Met Your Mother in the wee hours less. More specifically, post at least 2 times per week with quality original work.

7. Do 1 activity per week with James that is not reading, school-related, or electronic. Brushing his teeth doesn’t count, but bathing him might depending on how much wrestling is involved.

Top Ten: 2012 Resolutions – The Results Are In!

This past year I thought that  if I posted my New Year’s resolutions to the general public I could be reminded, kidded, cajoled, convinced and/or shamed into keeping them until at least some became new habits.

And here we are, unbelievably, in the last hours of 2012. And reluctantly, as I worked on goals for 2013, I took a look at last year’s resolutions – here is my report card in all of its glory. Kind of.
