NYC Holiday Top Ten Event – DMF “Season to Smile” is December 11th!
One of my Top Ten favorite holiday activities in NYC (see Top Ten posts for more ideas) is coming up on the 11th and I hope you will be able to join me! Please make sure to use eventbrite to RSVP and note that there are two times to choose from. Though admission is free you should reserve a ticket because space is more limited every year (not surprisingly!). I can’t recommend this event enough – look up “holiday spirit” in the dictionary and you’ll find the DMF Winter concert!
To our friends,
We hope all is well!
It’s that time of year again, and you are cordially invited to join us on Sunday, December 11th for our free concert, “A Season To Smile – A Musical Celebration.” It is sure to be a high energy and wonderful day, with performances like Walking on Sunshine, Hair, What I Like About You, U Smile, Love Train, Soul Sister, and many others! We also will be sharing our amazing experience of Yankees HOPE Week this summer with a brief video, so mark your calendars and please join us (for either one or both of our 2 different shows):
The Dalton School
108 East 89th St. (between Lexington and Park Ave.)
1:00PM-2:30PM and/or 4:00PM-5:30PM.
Please RSVP if you will be able to attend by using Eventbrite – http://www.dmf-season-to-smile.eventbrite.com/ or if you prefer, contact us at daniel@danielsmusic.org or 212-289-8912 and share in the “Season to Smile” by inviting your friends and family to attend (just let us know so that we can keep track of the number of attendees)! As always, many thanks for being part of the DMF community!
Warm regards,
Daniel, Ken, Nancy and Mike
A Look At The Week Ahead: 11/29/11
A week filled with holiday activities, houseguests and cooking has brought a lot of joy, laughter, gratitude and an inevitable hangover to our house (I only hope we recover in time to do it all over again in a few weeks). So “The Week Ahead” is probably unrealistic, though I intend to get to it all during an unusually eventful week:
School Reviews: This is probably taking me so long to complete because I have so much to say on the topic (just ask my husband), not to mention the struggles we are going through in our own hunt for the right middle school next year. The school review series will kick off with “What To Ask” when considering a school for your special needs child and reviews of PS 165, West Side Collaborative, Community Action School and The Child School. I promise at some point to stop adding to the review and to just post it already!
Sensory Processing Issues Explained: guest post by Beth Arky, a fantastic and comprehensive overview of recognizing and living with SPD.
Manhattan Family Resource Fair recap: December 1st from 10-2! Make sure to see my previous post on this event for more details.
DMF Winter Concert Invitations will be posted this week – keep an eye out and reserve early – seating becomes more limited each year as Manhattan’s best kept musical secret is discovered!
Last Week For Twenty Questions: Special Needs Financial Planning I have received dozens of questions for our first Ask The Expert series and will be taking questions through the end of this week which will be passed along to an expert who has specific insight to offer to the special needs community.
Add to that the Monday Minute: Thanksgiving in review, Tuesday Top Ten, and Special Needs News headlines and you can see just how ambitious (and antsy) I am feeling after our turkey holiday!
I hope everyone had as wonderful and blessed of a Thanksgiving weekend as we did here. Check back soon to see if I knock anything off of the list!
