Saturday Funday at Kings Bay Y (near Prospect Park)
The Saturday Funday Program is a weekly dropoff recreation/education program for children with learning disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. It is unique to the Windsor Terrace community and includes a rich variety of activities that are specifically designed and planned for children on the autism spectrum.
The program meets each Saturday from 11am-1pm. It includes physical activities, art and cooking projects, an educational component, and a nutritious snack.
The activities will revolve around a new theme each week including the following topics: recognizing emotions, the importance of healthy eating, our environment and how we can protect it, etc. The activities will be educational and hands-on in order to be both fun and beneficial for children with disabilities and/or on the spectrum. Children in the program can also use the open playspace starting at 10, but you must stay to supervise your child. For more information about our Saturday Funday Program, you can go to our website at: http://ywindsorterrace.org/funday.html
Rates are $27 for individual “drop-in” classes and $240 for a full 10-week semester.
