Top Ten: Reasons To Join Our 2014 Central Park Challenge Team, The Foorce Finale!
One of my favorite events of the year is around the corner and I am more than happy to tell you ten good reasons as to why you should join our walk/run team this year. The Central Park Challenge is on June 7, 2014, and I truly hope you will be able to be there and see for yourself what all the (well deserved) hype is about.
———————————————————
1. It’s your last chance to join our team, ever. This is not dramatic flair, guys. At the end of June we will sadly all be relocating to Houston. No, not downtown, down South. So if you’ve been watching from the sidelines all of these years but have thought it looked like fun, it’s time to tie those shoelaces and sign up for The Foorce!
2. There’s a good chance you’ll get to meet some celebrities. Past stars have included Sherri Shepherd, co-host of ABC-TV’s “The View” and NBC-TV’s “30 Rock,” Bill Ritter, Anchor of WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News, Tina Fey and Grizz Chapman of NBC-TV’s “30 Rock,” Dominic Chianese, of “The Sopranos,” Maria Milito, DJ of Q104.3 FM, Dan Lauria of The Wonder Years and Diane Neal of Law & Order SVU.
3. Lots of fun for kids. The kids races are a blast for as young as 2 years old (disabled or not), and everyone walks away a winner (for real, the kids all get fun medals and t-shirts).
4. Exercise. Not ready for the 5K race? A 3K, no matter how slow, still beats eating leftover pizza on Saturday morning.
5. Free water, coffee and bagels. And other yummy snacks, products, massages. After all, you need a few extra calories and a little pampering after #4.
6. Make some new friends. There are lots of fun people on our team if past years are any indicator 🙂
7. Experience a big event in Central Park. This is truly one of those once-in-a-lifetime kind of experiences. The crowd and atmosphere are indescribable and not to be missed.
8. It’s a chance to laugh at me completing the 3K big and pregnant, again. With another baby strapped on. I think this has been in 3 of our Top Tens now… Look at it this way – if i can do it, you should really be able to.
9. Not into free bagels and coffee? How about BBQ? We have our own little team picnic after a successful day of racing and walking. Like I said, after all that exercise we’ll have earned some extra calories!
10. Do a good deed, support a great cause, and feel amazing doing it. Truly, you won’t believe the feeling of camaraderie you will experience at the Challenge. It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. Or maybe that’s the pregnancy hormones, but you get the point.
