Theatre Development Fund (TDF), the nation’s largest not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, is proud to continue serving the autism community with our Autism Theatre Initiative, making theatre accessible to children and adults who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or other sensitivity issues, and their families. TDF is delighted to offer an autism-friendly performance of the hit holiday musical ELF, THE MUSICAL on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2pm. ELF, THE MUSICAL is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Buddy is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and his step-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. Based on the 2003 movie Elf starring Will Ferrell, ELF, THE MUSICAL has become a New York holiday tradition! For this special performance, accommodations will be made, including a supportive audience environment, designated quiet areas, adjustments to lights and sound, and online resource materials. Tickets are being offered through TDF at the following prices: Orchestra (all seats) — $85.00 Limit 6 tickets per order. For larger groups and further information contact Deborah Stein, Coordinator of the Autism Theatre Initiative: deborahs@tdf.org or call (212) 912-9770 x383. Tickets for the special performance are only available for purchase at www.tdf.org/elf |
